COP 28 Challenge for Schools

This December, the UN’s COP 28 will be hosted in the UAE. It’s an important global UN event for world leaders to agree on the urgent action needed to prevent climate change and restore nature.

We’re very excited to be working with World’s Largest Lesson, a global education program working in partnership with UNICEF and UNESCO, to gather as many Fact-ivist posters about climate and the environment as possible.

Join the challenge!

Imagine if you were attending COP 28 and wanted to create a new law to combat climate change. What data would you use to back your argument?

Choose a fact from the worksheet, or research one for an environmental Goal (7,11,12,13,14,15)  that inspires you. You could choose a negative fact to show why we need action, or a positive fact to show the change that is needed.

Turn your chosen fact into an eye-catching poster to show governments why they should take action, and let them know the change you want to see.

The World’s Largest Lesson will take some of the best posters with them to display at COP 28 – to make sure that the voices of children around the world are represented on the global stage!

The deadline to enter is 30 November 2023.

What is Be a Fact-ivist?

Be A Fact-ivist is a free online platform inviting students to research data on the SDGs and then share posters using fact of their choice, because data is the first step to action!

You can see the online gallery here. The platform is available in English, Arabic, Spanish and French.
